A few finished products, new listings, and ideas for new products to be listed. Progress!
I like to knit. I love yarns and needles and swifts. I cannot follow a pattern to save my life, so I have had to discover my own previously untapped creativity. As a result, all of my pieces are original designs, with inspirations and components pulled from many sources then jumbled together in my imagination. It continues to amaze me that, with some needles and yarn, an idea can become a cozy usable piece. It concerns me that crafts like knitting are becoming lost arts, as cheap and quick gain increasing ‘importance’. I love that I can enjoy a cup of tea or a glass of wine and perhaps a movie with the family, while creating something.
wool in italyhttp://woolinitaly.wordpress.com
This blog was inspired in part by wanting to let the English-speaking world know about The Wool Box, working to save the wool-growers, the native sheep species of Italy and to do that in an environmentally responsible way. I’ll be talking more about that part of the adventure and translating some of the most interesting information I have found on their blog. In addition I’ll continue to explore, in search of the best workshops, shops, exhibitions and Wool In Italy and letting you know where to find it in person or on the web.
