Uncle Sam's Mistress, author of Living with PTSD and TBI is an Army Reservist, Disabled Veteran's wife and advocate for families who were reunited with soldiers who returned home from war as different people. Through brutal honesty and candid details on her blog she has given both spouse and Veteran readers an insider's view into the battles with a broken system that doesn't know how to heal our Veterans or help their families as well as what the real stories are behind the curtains of somewhat taboo subjects. This blog doesn't pretend that PTSD and trauma recovery are any form of catnip. Rather, it offers great thanks for the military men who sacrificed much for our freedom.
The story behind A Soldier's Perspective is one that we should all take to heart and be proud of. Master Sergeant C.J. Grisham is a man inspiring instant respect. After posting some strong personal opinions on his blog, he was suddenly bombarded by complaints about his blog, leading to both his community and the U.S. Army asking him to shut it down. In a sudden twist, an online retailer, Cat5 Commerce partnered with him to help defend his rights and keep his blog afloat. More than 30 military bloggers went into a silent period to show their support, and the following quote was released: "Support the freedom of speech of a man who puts his life on the line for it every single day!"
This military spouse writes of the ups and downs of being married to a military man. She shares a unique perspective of what her life is like as a wife and mother.
Scott writes to educate the public on how an Army veteran navigates life with Combat PTSD and how it interrelates to his everyday existence.
